Upcoming course: AI fundamentals for biotechnology, 26–27 November 2026
Artur will lecture in the new BioTech Delft advanced course "AI fundamentals for biotechnology", which takes place on 26–27 November 2026 at TU Delft. The course is organised by Dr. Cees Haringa.
The two-day course introduces professionals from industry and academia to the basics of artificial intelligence and its use in biotechnology. It covers machine learning fundamentals (supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, model evaluation and gradient descent), hybrid modeling, and large language models and multi-agent systems. Application examples include protein structure prediction, Bayesian modeling of bioprocesses, model predictive control with neural network forecasting models, and capacity prediction in biopharmaceutical supply chains.
The course combines lectures, industrial application examples and exercises. Participants watch about two hours of preparatory videos before the course.
The course takes place right before the ESBES conference in Delft, which starts on 29 November 2026 with the theme "Biomanufacturing 4.0". Registration and fees are listed on the BioTech Delft course page.
