Angga, Lukas and Dominik win the Faculty Open Science Award for pyDEXPI
Anggawirya Alimin, Lukas Schulze Balhorn and Dominik Goldstein won the 2025 Faculty Open Science Award of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at TU Delft for their work on pyDEXPI.
pyDEXPI is an open-source Python implementation of the DEXPI information model, a data standard for Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). It makes machine-readable P&ID data easier to create, exchange and process, and it is the basis of our research on generative AI for engineering diagrams.
The TU Delft Open Science Awards recognize researchers who make their work openly available, for example through open data, open software and reproducible methods. TU Delft announced the 2025 winners on 29 August 2025 (announcement).
The code is available on GitHub, and the package can be installed from PyPI. We welcome ideas and contributions.
