I joined the Process Intelligence research group in January 2026. I obtained my PhD at KU Leuven and continued as a research associate. Here, my research focused on the development and automation of hybrid models for chemical processes, with applications in CO₂ capture and pharmaceutical manufacturing. In particular, I worked on integrating thermodynamic and physical-chemistry knowledge into machine learning models to support the development of more sustainable chemical mixtures. I am currently an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow working on the project CoAUTHOR. The goal of this project is to improve the efficiency and resilience of chemical and pharmaceutical processes through the design of new systems or the retrofitting of existing ones through machine learning techniques. This is achieved using context-aware reinforcement learning approaches that combine physical-chemistry information, expert knowledge, and data-driven methods.
